Vacancy - Production Leader Machining

Hey experienced machinist! Are you ready for the next step in your career?

Would you like to lead a small team and are you energized by a challenging and versatile job, where you get a lot of freedom?

Combifit Metalworking is a (high-mix low-volume) precision mechanical supplier specialized in machining all types of materials, such as stainless steel, Inconel, Hastelloy Titanium, Monel, Nickel and Incoloy. These difficult materials hold no secrets for them; therefore, they do not turn their hand to them.

Your challenge as Production Manager is to take production efficiency to the next level and keep it that way by applying the 4.0 production philosophy. How will you accomplish this? That is entirely up to you!

So you get the freedom here to roll out your vision on this so that the plant can take the next step. They are going to invest in the future next year. At this stage, you will have the opportunity to give direction to this investment with automated processes, tool management and CAM programming, among other things. The end goal is to start partial unmanned production next year!

What are your duties and responsibilities?

As Production Manager, you will lead a team of 6 production employees. A challenging and versatile job, where no day is the same. Together with your team you will lift production to a higher level and make sure that every day all heads are pointed in the same direction.

In order to meet the schedule, good work preparation is essential. This is therefore an important part of your job. It is up to you to prepare everything so that the machine changeover can be realized as quickly as possible. You work with Plan de Campagne and APM. Sometimes you will also have to roll up your sleeves yourself to support your team.

You are therefore responsible for all aspects regarding production (through KPIs spindle efficiency, delivery reliability and quality). You maintain an overview of the various production processes and identify opportunities to improve processes and implement new processes. As a sparring partner, you also have a lot of customer contact about the manufacturability of new products and production delays, and you handle any complaints.

What else will you do as a Production Manager at Combifit:

  • Assist staff with questions about production, interpretations of drawings or CNC programs but also regarding their personal development;
  • You conduct performance appraisals with management and are the point of contact in his absence;
  • You are responsible for maintaining the machinery and appearance on the shop floor.

What does Combifit Metalworking have to offer you?

  • Direct employment with Combifit Metalworking.
    So not via a temping or secondment construction. Combifit wants to achieve great results together, so the intention is to work towards a permanent contract from a temporary appointment.
  • Excellent primary and secondary working conditions.
    Appropriate salary (€5,000 - €6,000, depending on your knowledge and experience), reimbursement of travel expenses, collective labor agreement for Small Metal, pension plan through Pension Fund PMT, 8% vacation allowance and 25 vacation days.
  • Plenty of challenges and advancement opportunities!
    As Production Manager, you get to contribute ideas on how to improve business processes on the shop floor. They are going to invest in 24-hour production, and your opinion will also be taken into account when purchasing the new multitask machine. Should you have the ambition, it is also possible to grow to manager!
  • Personal growth and development.
    Craftsmanship is highly valued at Combifit. They invest not only in their machinery, but also in their personnel. Among other things, you can follow training and courses aimed at your area of expertise.
  • Working Hours:
    You will work 38 hours per week in day shift from 08:00 to 16:30. With the exception of Friday, because then you are already finished at 14:30. Instead of accumulating adv hours, you will enjoy the weekend earlier on Friday afternoon!
  • Work clothes, shoes and PPE.
    You will be provided with work clothes, shoes and PPE such as goggles and hearing protection.
  • Various fun staff activities!
    Every year a dinner is organized at Christmas or you go out to eat together. In the summer there is often a spontaneous Friday afternoon drink. And you are free to introduce more activities, for example!
  • Machine use in your own time
    Do you enjoy working out something for yourself in your spare time? Then you may (by agreement) use the machines in the workshop on weekends!

What do you bring to the position as Production Leader Machining?

You know how to keep an overview and motivate the team to meet those daily targets. You like to go the extra mile. Even when the pressure is high, you keep a cool head and always come up with an appropriate solution.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A completed technical education at least MBO level 4 (e.g., in the direction of Machining) and/or demonstrable leadership experience in a similar position;
  • Experience with both CNC milling and turning;
  • knowledge of tools;
  • Experience with ERP Plan-the-Campaign/APM and/or CAD/CAM package Fusion 360 is nice to have, but not a must.

Where will you work?

Combifit is a precision mechanical subcontractor that focuses on third-party orders. Besides specializing in the exotic materials, they also machine common materials such as steel, brass, bronze and plastics. They are also proud of their own products (the Combifit T-rings, tri-clamp and flat rings), which they sell internationally.
